Position 1: Electrical & Instrumentation Technician (Carbon Plant)
Salary: SAR 3,800 – 4,200
Age Limit: 45 years or below
The Anode Baking Furnace (ABF) Electrical & Instrumentation Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, calibrating, and repairing electrical, instrumentation, and PLC control systems associated with the anode baking furnace and auxiliary equipment. The role ensures safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the furnace to support continuous production in the carbon plant and aluminum smelter.
Key Responsibilities:
- Breakdown, preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on furnace ramps, anode handling system, fume treatment plant, and auxiliary systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair motors, MCCs, switchgear, transformers, VFDs, soft starters, and power distribution systems.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and single-line drawings.
- Calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot field instruments – pressure, temperature, flow, level transmitters, control valves, and analyzers.
- Physically inspect job sites and ensure readiness before permit sign-off.
- Capable of working at elevated heights and in confined spaces.
Equipment/Systems:
Anode Baking Furnace, Furnace Ramps, Anode Handling System, Fume Treatment Plant, Electrical Power Systems, Instrumentation & PLC Control Systems, Auxiliary Systems.
Position 2: Mechanical Technician
Salary: SAR 3,800 – 4,200
Age Limit: 45 years or below
Minimum 8-12 years of experience as a Mechanical Technician in the industry (preferably direct Aluminum smelter / Casthouse maintenance experience). Certification from a recognized technical institution required. Must be fluent in English (spoken and written).
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with operations for system preparation and job execution.
- Evaluate job scope and determine required tools, materials, and equipment.
- Apply for and manage work permits in compliance with Maaden permit system.
- Prepare and execute Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and ensure all safety protocols are followed.
- Read and understand mechanical drawings and technical manuals.
- Set, align, and test run rotating equipment.
- Troubleshoot and analyze mechanical issues with support from maintenance teams.
- Perform overhauls and repairs on compressors, pumps, fans, blowers, etc.
- Knowledgeable in various types of mechanical seals and their replacement methods.
- Independently carry out daily maintenance tasks and support equipment maintenance.
