Job Description
Al Samit International, on behalf of Det Norske Veritas (DNV), is urgently seeking a highly experienced Refractory Engineer for mega projects in Qatar. This is an immediate requirement for candidates with a strong background in refractory inspection and testing within the oil and gas industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct refractory inspections and testing for oil and gas facilities.
- Ensure compliance with API standards and QA/QC procedures.
- Perform failure investigations and recommend refractory material selections.
- Support field installation and unit start-up activities.
- Analyze refractory damage mechanisms and identify root causes.
- Communicate effectively with project teams and clients in English.
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Mechanical, Metallurgical, Civil, or Chemical Engineering.
- Minimum 15 years of experience in refractory inspection & testing for Oil & Gas facilities.
- API 936 Certification – Mandatory.
- API 510 / API 570 certification is an added advantage.
- Strong knowledge of refractory materials, damage mechanisms, and failure analysis.
- Excellent English communication skills.
- Proven experience in field installation and unit start-up support.
