We Are Hiring: Naval Architect
Aries Overseas is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Naval Architect to join our team in Surabaya. If you have a passion for ship design, offshore structures, and marine engineering, this is your opportunity to work on exciting projects with a global leader.
Responsibilities
- Develop and review structural designs for ships, offshore structures, and marine vessels.
- Perform hull scantling calculations in accordance with Classification Society rules.
- Prepare structural calculations, technical reports, and design documentation.
- Conduct plate panel Finite Element (FE) analysis to verify structural integrity and optimize designs.
- Ensure compliance with Classification Society requirements such as ABS, DNV, Lloyd’s Register (LR), Bureau Veritas (BV), RINA, and ClassNK.
- Utilize classification software for structural assessment, rule calculations, and design verification.
- Coordinate with structural, piping, mechanical, electrical, and production teams throughout project execution.
- Review General Arrangement (GA) drawings, structural layouts, and construction details.
- Participate in design reviews, technical discussions, risk assessments, and client/classification survey meetings.
- Support vessel new-building, repair, conversion, and modification projects.
- Address and resolve Classification Society comments and technical queries in a timely manner.
Technical Skills
- Strong expertise in Scantling Calculations.
- In-depth knowledge of Classification Society Rules (DNV, ABS, LR, BV, RINA, ClassNK, etc.).
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and 3D marine design software.
- Experience with engineering analysis software such as ANSYS, Abaqus, NASTRAN, or equivalent is an added advantage.
- Sound knowledge of ship structural design, strength assessment, and marine engineering standards.
- Familiarity with international marine design codes and regulations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Naval Architecture or Marine Engineering.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in Naval Architecture, Shipbuilding, Offshore, or Marine Engineering projects.
