OIL & GAS MAINTENANCE PROJECT

FIRE EQUIPMENT OPERATOR: Secondary School completion with IFSAC/ PRO-BOARDS/ JOIFF Certification (or Equivalent) Firefighter II (Advanced Exterior, Interior Structural). Minimum 6 years practical experience in similar trade. Oil & Gas Experience will be an added advantage. Able to operate all types of heavy and light vehicles, appliances, trucks and trailers to fires/standby locations or any disaster area. Deploy, energize, and monitor the system or equipment and to recognize and correct system problems. Able to operate fire department communications equipment, relay information, and record information. Able to operate radio equipment and discriminate between routine and emergency traffic. Able to completely operate and maintain apparatus equipped with Fire Pump as below: a) Able to position a fire department pumper to operate at a fire hydrant and at a static water source, power transfer from vehicle engine to pump, draft, operate pumper pressure control systems, operate the volume/pressure transfer valve (multistage pumps only), operate auxiliary cooling systems, make the transition between internal & external water sources, and assemble hose lines, nozzles, valves, and appliances. b) Able to deploy portable water tanks as well as the equipment necessary to transfer water between and draft from them, make hydrant to-pumper hose connections for forward and reverse lays, connect supply hose to a hydrant, and fully open and close the hydrant.
FIREMAN/FIREFIGHTER: Secondary School completion with IFSAC/PRO-BOARDS/JOIFF Certification (or Equivalent) Firefighter II (Advanced Exterior, Interior Structural). Minimum 6 years practical experience in similar trade. Oil & Gas Experience will be an added advantage. Serves as a member of firefighting and control crew operating in case of fire or emergency in assigned areas. Works under conditions of extreme personal hazards at any location within facility jurisdiction. Ability to operate fixed fire protection systems via electrical/ mechanical means Control breathing, use SCBA in limited visibility conditions, replace SCBA air cylinders, use SCBA to exit through restricted passages, initiate and complete emergency procedures in the event of SCBA failure or air depletion, and complete donning procedures. Ability to operate charged hose lines of 63 mm (2½ in.) diameter or larger, couple and uncouple various handline connections; carry hose; attack fires; and locate and suppress hidden fires. Ability to prepare a foam concentrate supply for use, assemble foam stream components. Ability to operate a special agent supply (example Hydro-Chem operations).
