Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook two daily meals for approximately 40 hostel residents.
- Plan meals and ensure adequate quantities, quality, and portion sizes.
- Handle food preparation, cooking, serving, and proper storage.
- Maintain high standards of kitchen cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety.
- Minimise food waste through proper planning and portion control.
- Keep kitchen equipment, utensils, refrigerators, and cooking areas clean and functional.
- Coordinate with the Housekeeper and other staff to maintain hostel cleanliness.
- Report equipment issues, maintenance needs, and food safety concerns promptly.
Candidate Requirements
Ideal candidates should have prior cooking experience, preferably in a hostel, hotel, or large-scale kitchen. Knowledge of hygiene and food safety standards is essential. Ability to plan meals, manage portions, and work well with a team is required.
