QA/QC Inspector – Painting & Insulation (Including TSA)
Join our team and be part of a prestigious project in the Petrochemical/Oil & Gas Industry in Qatar. This is a short-term urgent requirement for an experienced QA/QC Inspector specialising in Painting, Insulation, Passive Fireproofing/Protection, and Thermally Sprayed Aluminium (TSA).
Experience & Technical Requirements
- Minimum 10+ years of experience in Insulation, Painting, Passive Fireproofing/Protection and TSA services in Petrochemical, Oil Refinery or Power Generation industry.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in inspection of coating and insulation systems (hot & cold).
- Minimum 2 years of TSA inspection or execution experience in oil refinery or petrochemical industry.
- Preferably 4 years of experience in Coating & Insulation Systems Installation in refinery plant stationary equipment, pipelines and structures.
- Thorough working knowledge of all phases and types of Coating, Insulation and TSA application methods and recognized industry standards.
- Knowledge of all international abrasive blasting equipment and airless/air spray equipment such as Clemco, Wiwa, Graco etc.
- Familiar with international codes, inspection and testing requirements for insulation, painting, TSA coating & Fire Proofing activities.
- Sound knowledge of reading Isometric drawings, P&ID/PEFS and strictly adhere to COMPANY specification, method statements, QC procedures and Inspection test plan. Maintain daily reports and log of daily activities.
- Experience in handling painting inspection tools, calibration, and maintain QA/QC reports and documents.
- Preferably have experience in facilitation of Root Cause Analysis.
- Coordinate with Civil Integrity Department and COMPANY Focal point for preparing and uploading Quality Dossiers to system.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the QA/QC effort in the Contractor’s area of responsibility.
- Understand how a QA/QC structure with embedded lessons learnt can provide the foundations of high-quality Maintenance Execution.
- Capable of managing and executing QA/QC audits & Quality Plan.
- Develop and interpret QA/QC related procedures and guidelines and ensure adherence to QA/QC standards.
- Train staff in QA/QC procedures and inspection techniques.
- Develop reporting process for QA/QC statistics and KPIs.
- Handle painting inspection tools, calibration and maintain QA/QC reports and documents.
Education & Certifications
- Diploma (3 Years) in Mechanical or Civil Engineering.
- Valid Coating Inspector Certification: NACE Level 2/BGAS Level 2/FROSIO Level 2
- ICorr Level 2 qualification in Insulation & Fireproofing.
Other Requirements
- Must be able to read, write and speak English (IELTS 6 or equivalent) and communicate with majority manpower in their language.
- Proficient in Microsoft Windows & Office suite.
- Experience in dealing with client quality departments and maintaining quality documentation.
- Valid Qatari Driving Licence with Defensive Driving Training (Mandatory).
